About this place
You might plan on just one drink, then find yourself choosing another small plate as you browse the menu at the counter. Suiba is a standing bar where you can enjoy a drink with a few bites. Start with easy-to-share options such as Suiba’s potato salad or smoked quail eggs. Visitors have mentioned ordering the potato salad again and again, making it a tempting first choice when you stop by.
The cream cheese marinated in tamari has also made a strong impression on some visitors. One diner enjoyed its soy-sauce flavour a little at a time and thought it would pair well with sake. Sake is on the menu, including Gensen Karakuchi / Yoshinogawa from Niigata. If you’d like something more substantial, there’s fried chicken and fried horse mackerel served with homemade tartar sauce. The appeal lies in combining several well-priced small plates; one solo diner commented that the portions were just right for drinking alone.
Drinks include Kirin Riku Highball, Fuji Sanroku Signature Highball and unsweetened Hyoketsu® Lemon, as well as sake and wine by the glass. There are also non-alcoholic beer-style drinks and soft drinks. Some visitors drink alone at the counter, while others come in small groups. The space also has terrace seating, offering the easygoing flexibility of a standing bar, whether you’re stopping in for one drink or sharing a few dishes.
